How long are your seasons?

Typically 3 months, but the end dates vary depending on which teams make it to playoffs and which teams do not.

Generally, the seasons run as follows:

Fall: August - December

Winter: December - March

Spring: March - June

Summer: June - August

What are your organization options?

We offer both competitive and practice play.

To try out for a competitive club team, players must register as a League/Tournament player using the League/Tournament player registration. Completing this registration allows your player to try out and be eligible for placement onto a League team.

Not every player who tries out for a League team will be placed.

Players who are placed onto a "Red" team are our teams who are eligible to play in tournaments.

The Practice Player option is great for players who are new to the sport or who cannot commit to games every weekend.

Practice Players do not attend tryouts and are not rostered onto a League/Tournament team.

After the practice schedule is posted online, practice players are to take note of what time and days their AGE GROUP/GRADE is scheduled to practice and attend those practices.

What are the costs for participation?

PRACTICE PLAYERS

$300.00/season

LEAGUE/TOURNAMENT PLAYERS:

$495.00/season

League and Tournament players will be sent an additional invoice totaling $100.00 to cover the cost of a new uniform IF NEEDED. This invoice will be sent out before the first game.

Tournament players may incur additional costs for participation in tournaments.

ALL INVOICES will need to be paid upon receipt.

Where are practices  located?

All practices will be held at Carmel Valley Middle School.

Address: 3800 Mykonos Lane San Diego CA 92130

When will my player practice? Why isn't the practice schedule posted before the start of the season for planning purposes?

Boys' teams typically practice Mondays and Wednesdays, and Girls' teams Tuesdays and Thursdays. We finalize the practice times the day after tryouts because only then do we know how many teams we have and what our coaches' availability is. Typically, our younger teams will practice earlier, and our older teams later.

What does my player need to bring to practices?

Please send your player to each practice with the following:

-refillable water bottle

-facial covering

-personal basketball

Will my player need to wear their facial covering during practice?

All players and coaches need to wear their facial coverings throughout the duration of practice.

IF players are doing drills outdoors and can be spaced more than six feet apart, the coaches will then determine if it is appropriate for the players to remove their facial coverings.

IF players need to take a break and remove their facial covering, they will be asked to do so when they can be a safe distance away from other individuals.

Can I watch my player practice?

If you wish to watch your player practice, you will need to wear a facial covering and pass a temperature check and a health questionnaire in order to gain access to the courts. We will have a designated "parent waiting area".

We appreciate your cooperation and willingness to remain in the parent waiting area, wearing your facial covering, and social distancing throughout the entirety of your player's practice :)

What if I can’t make it to tryouts?

If your player is unable to attend tryouts on the day or at the time specified, please contact the appropriate program manager ASAP:

For boys, please contact Program Director DJ Gay at dj@sandiegobulldogs.org

For girls, please contact Program Manager Leo Elegado at lelegado@bgcsandieguito.org
